Google Add-ons

This week Google created add-ons for Docs and Spreadsheets. I have embedded a Google Video below that explains some of these add-ons.

One of the Add-ons I feel will be useful for students is the Thesaurus. Teaching writing at the lower elementary level presents challenges as you teach word choice. Teachers try to steer students away from words like cool and great, but it has proven difficult to either use a book thesaurus or an online thesaurus. The new "Thesaurus Add-on" makes finding alternative words a breeze. Please see the screenshot below to see how it works.

About Kurt

Kurt is the third and fourth grade teacher at St. Lucas Lutheran School in Kewaskum, Wisconsin and has loved technology since 7th grade. Now in his 13th year at St. Lucas; Kurt is blessed to be the Director of Technology. As such the Lord has enabled him to lead St. Lucas into implementing a 21st Century Education Program which focuses on one to one computing. This program was featured in the West Bend Daily News.
